Helderberg Escarpment

This is a painting that is going to be sold at silent auction outside of Albany New York at the end of September. Its currently a work in progress at this stage (I think the yellow photographed strangely). It is one of the largest paintings I have done to date.

Water Colors

Some new watercolor work I have done mostly for my class, my students wanted to do some still life flower painting so this is some of what I did as a demo. The Autumn picture is a copy I did of a Winslow Homer painting of the same name that I really like.

MortarMonster

I did this starting out as a demo for one of my digital painting students, I ended up liking it and taking it a few hours further. The rendering is pretty rough but I like the final result so far do you guys think I should render it more or is it good the way it is ?

New Stuff and Old Stuff

This is a painting I did of Siesta Key in Florida as part of a series of paintings about the ocean the rest are top secret ! These are both in Oils.
This is actually a painting that is a few years old but I still like it and I just had a bunch of my stuff photographed so I thought I would share it with the world.

A new watercolor, which I haven't done in a while as well (I cant wait for the weather to get cooler so I can get back outside and paint !). I did this as a demo in my watercolor class.

Long Time No Post

I thought I should put up some new stuff, I know its been a long long time overdue. It hasn't been due to lack of new work but in fact most stuff I had been putting up here was personal stuff and explorations. I have had little time for this kind of work lately because I have actual commissions to do, which is great but they don't want them posted willy-nilly online so oh well! I have been able to do some more personal work and I am gonna share a backlog of the best of it now, I know you can hardly wait !This is a painting of Ben Nevis in Scotland, there is a bit of a bad glare on the left side and I need to have this one rephotographed which I will be doing with a big group of new oil paintings soon so keep on checking back.This is another oil painting of Tilden park outside Berkeley Ca, one of my favorite places to go when I lived out in San Fran.Another Oil this one is a small study of a goose that I think turned out pretty well.

This is actually an acrylic painting of a "Civil War" bridge near by, I did this one in the winter which explains all the orange colored leaves. I actually haven't done much acrylic since this one and have really been enjoying using oils in my portrait and landscape work(other than the horrible smell).

Devil Assassin

Another Art Order challenge piece. This time it is supposed to be a Devil Assassin not really my best work and compared to some of the other entries this time not very impressive but I didnt spend very much time on it between other things.

Bug Monster

This one started as a idyllic farm scene then look what happened !! Better run not that it will do much good. Sort of a work in progress that I am tired of working on and gonna call finished for the time being.

Space Elephant

Well due to my thumb I am having strange sleeping patterns and stayed up working on this guy. It started as a sketch like 6 years ago and I colored in maybe 3 years later and thought it was OK but I think my standards have really improved so I worked on it a bit more and its getting closer to how I want it to be. Still a great concept overall I think. Elephants never forget... to KILL.

Fayetteville

Its been a while since I posted due to upheaval and new opportunities. Here is my first new watercolor in a while of the local Court House that will be for sale in my new Gallery !! I will also be teaching a workshop there on digital painting more info on that soon. I have some really good Illustrations I am working on but due to other things haven't quite got them finished.

Spear

This is one that is a little bit different because I did the original drawing in pen and then painted it with watercolor. I then just did a little clean up and changed a few things in photoshop. I think the result is ok as long as you don't look too closely. I was also playing around with doing a more splash type illustration. One thing I am trying to do is to stop playing catch up to the current style and go my own way to be ahead.

Hurakan

Part 4 for the Hurakan ArtOrder competition. Including color schemes and BW layouts for the cover. He is supposed to be hammer throwing a tank with his mighty lightning powers but I dont know if it comes across that way to other people.
